The Mook
The Mook
Based on the popular OPA Alice circuit used among DIY audio enthusiasts to get a pristine studio quality microphone with simplicity at its core. Utilizing the 25mm JLI-2555BXZ3-GP capsule sold by JLI and manufactured by Transound, a Taiwanese electro-acoustic company with 24 years of experience and the OPA1642 JFET input OpAmp sold and manufactured by Texas Instruments, it is able to produce a sound quality rivaled only by much more expensive studio equipment options.
Note: This microphone uses an XLR connection and requires phantom power (+48v) to operate. The easiest way to accomplish this is with a cheap USB audio interface with phantom power.
